Unsure on how many linens if would use as mine turns on upon a detection of motion. As far as it detecting a person in the street yes it is legal for you to record that, many times if things get stolen you need to see which way they go or what vehicle they may be in there are many reasons you need and want to see in the street when monitoring your home with security cameras.

Also, you should change the cam area to exclude the privacy areas or neighbor's area in the cam. You can also change the direction of the light so that it doesn't intrude into your neighbor's house.
