• Yes my husband and I use the app (individually)daily but our closest son has the app on his phone so that he can monitor when we go out of town and can respond quickly he simply turns his notifications off until he needs them we keep ours on daily

• Yes, but at moment i wouldn't recommend getting one (unless you dont mind down services often) because ring has been having a lot of technical issues.
