Yes, I have mine setting on my windowsill pointed toward the driveway and the road in front of my house. It works fine.

Yes if it’s close enough to sense the motion and motion is activated

Good question. Yes, you can install the device on a windowsill. However, if your camera is facing a window, you may get distorted images at night.
