Hello SheRox, Yes, all Ring security cameras use IR (infrared) lighting for night vision. Certain models of Ring devices have a night vision feature that allows you to see through the camera in low light conditions. By using infrared light, the camera can create a black and white image that is then beamed to the Live View in your app. By turning the color night vision feature on, the camera will use whatever ambient light is available to try and create a "false color" image in your Live View. This lets you get a better sense of what's happening in the image by creating a false sense of color depth. Here is a helpful article regarding this feature: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038559351-Understanding-Color-Night-Vision-and-Troubleshooting-Night-Vision. For any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out on our community forum at https://community.ring.com/. Thanks, Alexis with Ring
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This isn't a camera - its a motion activated sensor...so you will only know if someone/thing passed in front of it. I have two of them and sadly shut them off as my cat kept constantly setting them off even at the least sensitive setting.
