Hi. Thank you for your question today! Yes, the Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) needs WiFi to record. During setup, you will need to connect your camera to your WiFi network by entering your WiFi password in the Ring app. The camera needs a stable internet connection to record, upload, and save video to your Ring account.
