Yes, it is definitely compatible with doorbell 4. Simple, the doorbell 4 has a special screwdriver to unlock the bottom portion of the device. Simply take out the screw underneath the device, easily open the cover, slide the battery up into the harness with the push release button at the bottom and you're done. Just place the cover back on and tighten the screw at the bottom.
