If your battery is not working as it should, here are a few things to check. You may also try using a second battery. Too many motion events: The more Live Views, linked events, and motion events your device is performing, the more often you will need to recharge your battery. To make your battery last longer, adjust your Motion Settings to a lower level of sensitivity, adjust Motion Zones, change Motion Frequency to Regularly or Periodically, adjust the direction of your Ring device away from busy areas, or unlink your Ring devices. Cold weather: Rechargeable batteries, like the one in your Ring device, will drain faster when it is cold outside. Poor wifi connection: If your wifi connection is weak, your doorbell or camera might keep losing connection and then reconnecting. This can make your battery run out faster. You can check how strong your connection is by looking at something called the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) in your device's health settings. Over-charging batteries: Charging batteries too much can cause them to run out of power faster and take longer to charge. To help your battery last longer, stop charging when it gets to about 90%. Ring solar-powered, plugin, and wired devices that have a Ring Battery Pack automatically stop charging before 100% to protect batteries from wearing out.
