Q: QuestionI have the ring elite door bell and a chime pro extender, do I still need the bridge?
Asked by BobAGhanooch.
- A:Answer Hi Erico, Thank you for giving me an opportunity to answer this question for you, as I understand how powerful knowledge on a product is to your home security. The Ring Bridge for Smart Lighting serves as a central point for connecting all Ring Smart Lighting products. Without the Ring Bridge, your Smart Lights function only as individual units. With a Bridge, you can control whole groups of Smart Lights and other Ring products at once, and be notified via the Ring app when any light or Motion Sensor senses movement. In addition, you can use your Ring app to create Groups of Smart Lights and Ring cameras that work together to enhance security. You can find more information about the Ring Bridge on our website at https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025181851-Ring-Smart-Lighting-Bridge-Information. I would like to extend the invitation to get in touch with one of our tech experts directly by reaching out via email at [email protected], so we may answer any other questions or concerns you may have. Thank you, Caitlin from Ring

Q: QuestionCan this light be turned on and off from inside the house on a pre existing outdoor light switch.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The unit by itself turns on & off by itself when it detects motion. A switch would just cut off the power supply, but not enable you to turn it on as a flood light. To do that, you need to 'connect' it to a RING Bridge. With the bridge you can control one or more flood light units. The RING App will allow you to program the unit(s) to enable/disable the motion sensor and also give you control to operate it (them) as a flood.

Q: QuestionIf I buy this motion activated wired security lights but if I do not have Ring bridge or Wi fi connection in that area, would this product still work as a regular motion activated light and light up when there is a motion within the range? Thank you
Asked by Viva.
- A:Answer The motion sensor times out at a maximum 5 min setting . IT IS UNABLE TO RESET the TIMER WHEN IT SEES MOTION . THerefore after 5 min the light will turn off even if you are right in front of it. Then you are in the dark for 20 seconds until it will record motion again and turn back on …. This is a major flaw

Q: QuestionCan this be mounted to a soffit
Asked by Oliver.
- A:Answer It's really designed to mount to a vertical surface. I doubt the lights and sensor can swivel far enough to work on a soffit. I'll take a look at mine and try to ascertain the validity of my answer.
