Hello. Great question. Yes, the Ring Spotlight Cam Plus requires an 802.11 b/g/n wifi connection at 2.4 GHz. It requires a minimum upload speed of 2 Mbps for optimal performance. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you would need WiFi, we use the spotlight cams on my husbands garage and wound up getting the Verizon internet for just the garage, luckily when we did they were running a sale for 25 a month and box was free.
