Go solar and never worry about charging a battery again. That was my solution because just batteries was a pain in the you know where.

One common issue for this concern is the hatch on the battery compartment has not been closed tightly. Ensure your hatch is completely closed by firmly closing the battery compartment door. It might take a little pressure, but you'll know it's secure when you hear a click.
