- Answer You don't have to remove the doorbell to change the batteries. Unscrew and pop off the cover.

QuestionI have an AmpSmart alarm system installed, but am not pleased with the installed doorbell/camera...is the "Nest" camera compatible with other alarm systems and their monitoring apps?

- Answer Well, not really. It only operates on a 2.4 ghz network and handshakes with Ring’s software.

- Answer The doorbell 2 has an improved camera resolution. If you have the original, they give you a mounting adapter should you want to upgrade to the better camera

QuestionMy router is in the basement. My front door is on the first floor. Will I have a challenge with connectivity since they are both on different floors?

- Answer Yes. I have an elongated ranch home, and I bought the Chime Pro signal extender to put halfway between my router and my front door. I also bought a signal extender for my router! Even with all that, it read “weak signal “ when I energized the system. Regardless, it works great. The picture is remarkable. The software is also well designed and very intuitive.

- Answer Yes, the Ring 2 can be powered by your existing 24volt doorbell; hopefully your existing doorbell location is suitable for the camera angle that gives you the best viewing. The camera does give you a wide area of excellent scenery

Questionif i install the ring 2 doorbell in an area where hard wiring is not an option can i get one of the ring solar panels to keep it charged, does the ring 2 have a port to hook up the solar panel to.

- Answer You have to buy the solar housing specifically for the doorbell. The camera solar panels won't work with the doorbell. From some reviews, the solar housing really doesn't do a great job keeping the batteries charged. I ended up purchasing an extra battery so I could just swap them out as needed.

- Answer Well I don’t know if this helps but can pretty much mount it wherever u want too on your door or even facing sideways on the wall to your door as I did mine and I live in apt building so it actually looks down the hall to the elevator and I can see who gets off the elevator to my floor now which is even better than just facing it on my door
