If you are referring to a 1" wide inset no, my suggestion would be to fill the 1" gap with a block to flush it out and then mount the doorbell. If you are referring to a 1" wide surface than yes the shim plates you can purchase mount with a single screw on the top and bottom in the center of the shim.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The wedge kit mounts to the surface with 2 screws in the middle and will allow the ring to work in that space. I had the same issue and the wedge kit worked perfectly
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The reason I purchased the wedge kit was not for lack of space. I live on a busy street. The Ring was picking up a lot a traffic.(cars, trucks and buses.) The wedge kit points the Ring down a few degrees and eliminated most of the excessive motion alarms. I mounted . the Ring on the concrete wall next to the door frame using mortar screws . It is not hard wired. The lithium battery only had to be recharged once in 4 months so far. I regret not buying the 1080p Ring. The picture on the 720p is grainy and sometimes pixelated..Sometimes it takes several tries to tune in to wifi but I am generally pleased with the ring.
