No. U don’t need anything special to put it on the wall.

Keep in mind that the doorbell will be screwed to the wall, but the package includes all of the screws needed. You will need to use your own flathead (or a Phillips head, I forget) screwdriver, though. You could maybe get around using screws by using Command Strips or something (I considered using the velcro Command Strips), but this would make it easier for someone to rip the doorbell down with ease.
