Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The doorbell chime worked on the action of pressing and the release of the button after it is depressed. The old push button allowed the existing chime to active immediately. The Ring Doorbell doesn't activate and release the "button" for a couple of seconds so it can do what it needs to do such a alert you and record the video. This is conjecture based on how a typical design would work when replacing a purely mechanical push buttom.
