“If the dimensions on this are smaller than a standard doorbell wiring box (with the front being replaced), how does this "fit"? Is there a larger same colored plate that handles gap?”

There is a back plate/mounting plate that comes with the pro doorbell. The plate they supply is black. Hope this helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We purchased the pro model. It came with a retrofit plate. We used this plate to hide the wires and take up the gap space. Since we were using the black cover and the retrofit plate is black it looks fine. The retrofit plate is paintable so you could make it look any color you wanted. I think with this extra plate the doorbell actually has substance and looks better than without it.
