it needs 18-24 volts AC. If you don't have an existing doorbell then you will need to install a transformer and run a wire to that location. It's all on the RING web site. If you don't want to do the research then call them up. Their customer support is super helpful with issues. Their support never fails to impress me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You will need to run the wires to a transformer to power it. I did not have anything installed, So install a transformer, ran the cables and then used the Chime as the doorbell ringer. If you dont want to run the wires, just go with the Ring 2.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you don’t have an existing wired doorbell, don’t buy the Ring Doorbell Pro. Buy the Ring Doorbell 2 which is wireless and runs off a battery. You may need to buy an optional Ring Chime that will chime the doorbell when a visitor pushes the button.
