Hi Rick, Thanks for contacting me. Our Ring Video Doorbell Pro is hardwired, however, our Ring Video Doorbell and Ring Video Doorbell 2 are battery operated. Additionally, you do not need any additional speaker, all of our Ring devices have a two-way audio feature that enables you to talk and be heard through your Ring device. Take he old doorbell off, and pull the 2 wires off the old one and attach to the Ring and your good to go. As for the speaker, it’s built into the Ring. So no, you do not need an additional speaker.
