Good question! The Ring Video Doorbell is compatible with an 802.11 b/g/n wifi connection at 2.4GHz. This is why I chose the Geek Squad to install my ring video doorbells and tie them in with my with my wi-fi connection.  I do not have the tech smarts.  Sorry……
