The proper positioning of your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) depends on a number of factors including the layout of your yard, the distance from the front door to the street, objects within the Ring Doorbell's field of view, height of the door and more. There is a corner kit for your Ring Video Doorbell (2020 release) which allows you to adjust your viewing angle by 15, 30 or 45 degrees. Ring staff, could you please elaborate more on this, how to mount on a side wall where existing doorbell exists? For many homes like ours, the existing wired doorbell is on a side wall by the front door, not on the frame of the door. Thanks!

Yes it will work that way also but be sure it's a less 4 ft
