Hello Tony, Good question! No, Ring video doorbells and security cameras are intended to be used with your home wifi network, not a mobile device hotspot. Using a cellular connection or hotspot, instead of a home wifi network, may cause repeated failed setup attempts or your Ring device to continually disconnect from wifi. Here is a helpful article that explains the wifi requirements in more detail: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-Values-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Video Doorbell pre-purchase question, please reach out to us at https://community.ring.com/.
