It does not fit over the peephole, it’s meant for where the doorbell would be. Ring makes another product for the peephole that works as such.

No, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a wired only doorbell. It can be powered by either an existing doorbell system, the Ring Plug-In Adapter, or a transformer for power supply (10-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz, or 24VDC, 0.5A, 12W).
