Hi Cordcutter2015. Your questions are related to the antenna. The Roamio OTR Tivo only receives what the antenna delivers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use TiVo in an elevated area of Queens with line of sight to Manhattan and get great reception with inexpensive rabbit ears. Occasional I'v had to make a slight adjustment to get signals from Channels 2, 4, 5, 7. and 13 with one setting, which is desired for simultaneous recordings. Overall, I've found the TiVo tuners equal or superior to my Samsung Smart TV's. For my geographical position, I have not found expensive antennas superior to the basic, simple inexpensive type. To date, I have ot observed weather phenomena reception effects in my NYC area. When I was in Vermont without a TiVo, it was necessary to make critical adjustment to receive different stations. So, my answer may not be satisfactory for "get limited channels" reception area.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a DVR. Your antenna cable goes into the Tivo, so you will be seeing exactly what you see now. The only difference is that you can now record it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You won't get any more than you receive now. The Tivo uses the antenna as an input and doesn't add anything to it. Bad weather will not affect your signal any more than it does now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
