The warranty (per the Best Buy web site) is 1 year. As far as product details, it's pretty straight forward. Plug it into the wall and plug your device into the surge protector. Surge protectors do not last forever. They have a limited number of surges and power of surges they can absorb. Could be one big one or many small ones. The blue light on the front tells you it's still working. Once the blue "Protected" light goes out it's time to change it for a new one.
