• I would expect this won't work. Because of the copy protections built into HDMI, it isn't supposed to pass through to a recording device. It's only intended to send signals to output devices such as a television.

• I use this splitter to send the direct tv signal to 2 televisions and it works great. I see no reason it would not work for a TV and DVD
