This has 3 HDMI ports. The one in the center is the source and then the 2 on the sides are to outputs. It essentially mirrors one source (DVD, computer, Satellite, etc.) Onto two outputs (TVs, monitors, etc.) Based on what are asking, it sounds like you need a switch, not a splitter. It sounds like you want multiple sources to converge into one TV, or maybe a switch and then this splitter if you plan to view multiple sources on multiple TVs. Either way though, you still need to have HDMI connections. So if your TV doesn't have a free HDMI port, you would have to unplug something to connect this output to it. Not sure if your satellite system allows for you to change sources within it so I can't answer whether plugging it into the satellite and then running it through the TV would work or not.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use one to feed 2 different tv's in different rooms. Feed input from cable service into splitter then cables out to the tv's. Works fine.
