“what kind of audio output is used or converted when using this product? Is it SPDIF? Whenever I am trying to connect to my CP850 it wont play the audio when I try to connect. will this work with a CP850 at a movie theatre?”

It’s my understanding that HDMI cables carry the signal for both audio and video. No idea what devices you are referencing as CP850.
