You cannot choose an output to use. It takes one HDMI signal in and sends that same signal out both of the HDMI outputs. This would send the PS5 output to both your TV and monitor. You would either need to switch your TV and Monitor individually or get a Matrix Switcher.

You can not turn on the 2nd display As my suggestion. FYI: What I did with mine was a disconnect the 2nd monitor. I have a tv and a projector connected to the splitter. But the projector I like to use as my primary. I also like to have 2 different content on each monitor. I did notice that when I do have the different content on each screen when I click the primary display it over rides the tv content and shows on the tv as well. While it’s doing that, the image on the projector disappears and comes back after a couple of seconds. Hopefully this helps.
