You should be able to use it. Even if your Apple TV doesn't require a high speed cable it will give you good results.

It’s just an HDMI with a higher transfer/bandwidth capacity is the way I understand it. So if you are trying to see things in 4K or higher it is useful. So as long as you have HDMI ports you should be good. At least that is my understanding.
