• It does pass HDR through, just make sure HDR is enabled on the source and the tv, if it supports it. Some 4k tv's do not support hdr.

• We use it with a Plasma TV and an X-Box 1 both look great. I tried a few on Amazon that claimed they worked but did not look good at all.....this was the only switch box I found which seems to hold good quality. The price was more but it works.
