• No it does not switch automatically when power is applied. You do have to use the remote or touch the coorisponding number on the unit itself to select your input.

• you have to use the remote and double press the remote button has very good success rather than a single press. many people stated they couldn't get the box to change when pressing the remote button........double press it. also the switch box has a touch sensor and it can be changed on the box directly.
