It can be used for that, considered it myself but my receiver has the spring loaded red and black spring clips you have to hold to insert each end but cannot use plugs, the wire can but not in my instance

For your “spring clip” terminals, you might be better off going “raw”, but there are “pin” style adapters you can get instead of banana plugs. Banana plugs would not work with your spring terminals at all.
