• This device would protect the surge protector if it disconnected it. The next surge would take out your item plugged into the surge protector. Hope you don't get multiple surges (which is what normally would happen) or your plugged in device may be toast. Since you eliminated my last answer I suppose you will do the same with this one. • Is this a question, or are you just providing your opinion? I believe the outlet stops working when the surge protection is tripped, and needs to be replaced. (also an issue with the product) If not that is news to me.
