“lightning hit my cable box which died blew out the HDMI connection on my TV. can i use this surge protector to prevent this from happening? i assume i plug the coaxial cable to the surge protector but then what to get the TV to work? can u help here?”

This power strip blew along the cord and knocked out the TV after 8 years. I did purchase the same strip but had to purchase a new TV.

Please try again later.you have to buy a splitter they are not expensive you can get them at radio shack or electronic stores they have different kinds available for various hookups depending on what your hooking up based on your question you need a two-way splitter you hookup the main cable line into the single slot and then you hook up a cable line from your cable box to one pole and the tv cable into the other slot the cables have a pin and a turning end that is screwed onto the poles
