• Try resetting the cable connection and also make sure your audio is up on your iphone.

• make sure your stereo is set to aux. my truck sometimes defaults over to blu tooth audio even with the aux cable plugged in. or you have a defective cord.

• Make sure the volume is turned on, and not muted on your phone.

• If you had just purchased the cable i would see if your case on your phone is preventing the male end of the cable from connecting properly. ( I've seen this quite abit)

• It could be your cars aux option because I had an issue with an aux cord but when I would listen to a cd or the radio and it would be fine.

• Be sure cable is seated well into the phone, and the volume is turned up in your phone settings for media.

• Did you choose the headphone option on your iPhone? I did not notice that when I first plugged it in. But then I noticed a blue shape at the bottom right side of the ap, tapped it, and it gave me a couple of choices. The headphone choice played immediately.

• I could be wrong, but on my car along with AM/FM/CD I also have an AUX mode. Once I plug my phone in I have to change the mode to AUX to listen to the music. See if you have the same.
