• As long as it’s a USB-C cable, you can charge & play at the same time. Plus wit the connection on the side, it won’t get in your way like the standard bottom port on the device.

• Hi there! Technically it is only bad for the battery. Since discharging and charging at the same time isn't recommendable for any lithium ion battery. Rocketfish Support Angela
