Mine folds pretty flat, but obviously it still sticks out from the wall some. It does not look out of place, though.

No. It's a WALL mount unit. There actually IS a TV made to be mounted under a cabinet. The unit is sold 'all in one', that is as a TV with the under the cabinet mount, 'all in one'. The TV folds back & up when not in use, almost hidden from view. It comes with a remote control and can be connected to cable, etc.

Yes, it just would need to be more on one side or the other. It wouldn't be straight back against the wall.
