• Yes. The computer will recognize the monitor resolution (you may have to use Control Panel/ Display to set it to the best resolution and to recognize the monitor rather than using a generic setting). This is also partly dependent on the operating system and video card capability but the resolution you mentioned has been commonly supported for many years. Good luck.

• Yes, this device is inserted into the coax line. The signal is still RF at that point. The TV tuner will still decode the RF properly. The real issue is if the splitter passes the appropriate frequencies for the tuner.
