• Yes, you can. Just make sure you have an hdmi input available on the TV. I currently use a 40" led TV to do work on. I can resize the screen to fit two programs on the TV and still use my regular monitor as a third monitor. It is the easiest any cheapest way to have three monitors when you really only can have two. I have had no problems with this set up.

• I used it to connect Raspberry Pi 3B to old monitor, works fine. Same as your laptop if it has DVI out.

• Yes you can do that(its what I'm doing right now) just make sure your TV is set on the correct resolution, some TV's lose the automatic resolution adjustment when using converters like this.

• I tried to do the same thing but the color was messed up, so you might want to rethink it. Then again, my pc may not work the same as yours.

• yes you can, however keep in mind your computer outputs the digital signal in diffrent aspect ratios so you may have to adjust the settings in your video graphics

• yes, it should work just fine. you may not get sound through the cable, it depends on how the manufacturer set that up.
