• I do not receive any news channels with this antenna. I get 6 channels and all are spotty. I would not purchase this item even if it is 90% off!

• It only receives channels that are broadcast over open air (like you used to watch TV before cable and dish type receivers were in existence). Most local channels broadcast multiple HD channels. For example channel 7 will broadcast 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 etc. The programs you mentioned (and those like it) cannot be picked up by the antenna. I purchased it mainly to pick local channels for my TV out in my backyard patio. For this purpose, it works great!
