it should not because it 16-19vdc depe di g on tip and ac is 100-240v ac, 60-60hz - 2.5a if you are concern call 800-620-2790 and rocketfish will help more.

Your previous 18 falls within that range. I don't believe the amperage has any effect on your battery, but I may be mistaken, so best to check, is my recommendation.
