Will this hold my 8 year old 40" LG Flat Screen TV? null

I will say yes but... You absolutely need to find your wood studs. The older ones are a bit heavier. At my job we mounted two like yours and the Molly bolts would not hold , had to add wood braces . Once we did that,these brackets were flawless!

It should not be a problem, my TV is a 50in.

Yes there are 4 big lag bolts that hold the bracket in the wall. The whole wall will fall before the tv comes off the wall if you follow the directions.

If your TV is VESA 700mm x 400mm the mount will work.
