“I have a few questions: 1. Is this a shell only? 2. Do I need to remove the circuit from my other docking station in order for this to work? 3. My original docking station has the green rings of death. I need a new dock..will this work?”

This acts as a complete replacement for the dock that comes with the Switch. The only downside I’ve found so far is that it does not support HDMI CEC, which turns on your TV automatically when you turn on the Switch. The original dock supports this but the Rocketfish does not.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m not a geek, but it should work to replace the original dock without taking anything from the original dock. The switch slips on this dock and charges just like on the original. The only difference I can see is the switch isn’t hidden behind a front panel while docked. It also doesn’t weigh as much. We still use the original dock on our big tv. This one is used on a second tv so I can play the switch on a full screen tv while other family members are on our Xbox.
