Most are licensed by the FCC to broadcast on milliMeter wavelength called U.H.F., so moving this aerial (any aerial) a few inches can change reception quality from just 1 to several "bars" of signal strength...you just have to experiment to find the "hot" position, same as a cell phone when it's "cutting out" in a "bad" area. Carefully unbox a few different antennas and take back to B-Buy for a refund, the antennas that aren't right for your basement.
