“Weak signal strength. I just purchased the Rocketfish Whole Home HD Extender. I have a pretty large home with 2 stories and thought this product would work due to it transmitting through electrical lines. My source is down stairs and my receiver is upstairs and I can not get a good signal. I have both plugged into an outlet and not into a power strip or surge protector. After thinking about the issue I realized that I have 2 electrical panels and the source and receiver are more than likely connected to different ones. There is probably some cross-over connection somewhere in it since I am getting minimal signal but would this cause the weak signal with this product? Any ideas on a solution or am I going to have to return the product.”

All power line adapters would be subject to the same issues/concerns. HDMI data is intensive so it can be worse. Plugging in directly is the right thing to do but if the outlets are on different phases across panels and/or sub-panels you can/will have problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If your two electrical panels are next to each other, an electrician can move one of the breakers over so that they share a panel. If the upstairs breaker panel is physically upstairs in a utility room, there may be room in a shaft to run RG6 coaxial cable up there and put the cable box and the Rocketfish sender in the upstairs utility room.
