“Can this be used with an Apple TV to a projector? I want to run slides and video from a MacBook Pro to an Apple TV to a projector and have that same thing be fed/broadcast to a TV in a different room/lobby. Is this possible? Does the Apple TV become the "source device" like the DVR is the source device and then the projector acts as the TV?”

Product sends signal that supports HDMI ...if your gear accepts HDMI then it may work. Ask Apple people and Mac support about your particular gear.
