I have mine sitting next to a high powered receiver and it doesn't get hot at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have noticed this too and wasn't sure this was normal. Calling the support is less than desirable and that is my only complaint with this product. Seems that they outsource and 99.9% of the time, outsourced support is inadequate, confused, lengthy, frustrating and ultimately does not resolve the problem. Needless to say, support was worthless. Asked some computer programmers and gamer people that are familiar with media streamers and they actually touched the Roku and informed me this was normal. I, too, was a bit concerned. Not sure what you mean by "very hot?" as that is a relative term. I can say that my Roku gets quite warm. Does it get too hot to the touch? No. Just surprisingly warm. But certainly not so hot that you can't touch it. I was told to make sure it has room to breath. Still, I check it off and on to make certain it is not getting too hot. But I was told that if it is working properly otherwise, and it is not so hot that it causes discomfort to touch, then it is fine. Hope this helps.
