No monthly fees for the roku device itself. The only monthly fees would be associated with some of the channels for example, Netflix, etc. I've found many channels that are free and have no fees. For example, old movie channels, news channels, travel channels. Fees are only associated with the channel provider and not the roku device, per se.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No...but you have that option. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of free Roku channels out there (with more appearing all the time) that don't require any subscription fee. There are also some premium channels, like Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, CBS, and others, that have monthly - or sometimes one-time fees ranging from $0.99 and up. Some channels will give you limited access for free, or a free trial, but then you have to pay if you want full access. No matter how you slice it, however, it is much cheaper than cable, unless you go hog wild. And, you don't have to pay for channels you aren't going to watch. Don't watch sports? Don't pay for those channels. Aren't into nature shows? Don't pay for them. Etc. Better bang for your buck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, ROKU is free. Think of it as a radio or television. It brings your streaming subscriptions TO YOU, it also brings free content. Netflix costs money, ROKU brings it to your TV. Amazon Prime costs money, ROKU brings it to your TV. HULU Plus costs money, ROKU brings it to your TV. If you have cable, you can create accounts and access episodes and extra content through your content which you HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR (meaning your cable television subscription.) So no, ROKU costs you $0.00, and there is free content as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on which channels you want to watch. Netflix and Amazon Prime require a membership to view the "free" shows, but you can also buy shows from them without having a monthly fee. There are several free channels with free content. PBS is probably one of the better ones. Some of the movie channels have really obscure titles - like Swamp Lizard Granny Guitar Jam (ok - I made that up, but you get the idea).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't have to pay monthly for the roku itself but if you want to watch Netflix/Hulu/ etc you'll need a subscription which requires monthly payments. or you can log into a friends account :)!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is free content. Netflix, hulu, amazon, are among many channels that require subscriptions. You can install channels from the web site directly to your network connected roku and generally the site tells you what requires a subscription. May have to dig in a little though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it's free , however there are some channels you can pay for if you want them
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No monthly subscriptions for the Roku itself but, if you use a service like Netflix or Amazon prime (streaming is free with prime membership) you will pay the company a charge. However there are free movies out there with some channels Roku offers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Using Roku is free but accessing many of the channels it offers you do have to pay either a one time fee (renting a movie) or monthly fee. I have Amazon Prime so many of the TV shows and movies I am viewing via Roku are free through that program.
