Roku is compatible with Xfinity. I use both on the same TV. A Roku device will require internet access. It contains all of the needed software. It is not needed if you have Xfinity but you can also add an Xfinity channel to your Roku device very easily. I use my Roku on a 2nd TV in our home in lieu of paying each month for an added cable box. The savings (forgone expense of another cable box) fully paid for my Roku within a few months.
