“I have what is probably 1 of the oldest generations of Roku (a box). Will this streaming stick replace it and, if so, do I use the USB port on the tv to get it to stream properly? Also, what's diff btwn this & the more expensive stream bar?”

Yes this will replace the box and yes plug into USB port. This works great. I have 2 of these. Don't need to buy any that is more expensive.
