• Role 1 bare bones, the 2 and the 3 have an updated processor and interface, with the later also getting voice assist and an in-remote 3.5 audio jack.

• Mainly processor speed...Roku 1 is like a single core, 2&3 are at least dual core processor. Plus the remote is Rf not infa red like roku 1, rf lest u use remote from another room for example

• The main different in Roku 1 and 2 is the range that it can pick up wifi. If your Roku is close to the modem (within the same house), you should not have any issues with Roku 1 or the stick. Roku 3 has the ability to play games with an enhanced remote.
